If you know the WMO call sign of a given buoy, you might want to check if it is in the data base of the JCOMM Data Buoy Cooperation Panel (DBCP) (look for observational platform (query)).
You can also check for meta data information with the JCOMM Ocean Data Acquisition systems (ODAS)
